Prairie Pedal is a fundraising event for Macon County Conservation Foundation. All proceeds support the air and water quality, natural areas, and wildlife diversity of Macon County.

Whether you are interested in increasing your mileage, going for a bike ride with the entire family, getting in shape, or supporting a great cause, Prairie Pedal is a perfect event to pencil in your calendar for fall!

Enjoy the 62 mile, 40 mile, or 20 mile ride through the quiet roads of Macon County countryside and have a chance to discover the vibrant prairie grasses, wildflowers, and diverse wildlife as we ride for restoration! After the ride join the Macon County Conservation Foundation in an after party with chili (vegetarian option), an assortment of refreshments, entertainment, and raffle prizes!

A Safe Event

Radio-equipped SAG support is always available to help riders needing assistance. Priority will be given to riders in emergency situations—illness, injury, or irreparable breakdowns.

  • Know and obey traffic laws (we will be on public roads)
  • Use a helmet—it is required!
  • Ride within your own ability and physical condition
  • Carry personal identification
  • Make sure your equipment is in good condition
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the ride
